Podcast awards are a wonderful way to officially recognize excellence in the podcasting industry. Some awards are chosen by a panel of judges, while others are determined by public voting. Here’s 17 awards you can win, or just use to discover your new favorite show.

1) The People’s Choice Podcast Award
The People’s Choice Awards has been honoring podcasts since 2005. Fans vote for their favorite in over a dozen categories including: arts, business, LGTBQ, and more!

2) The Discover Pods Awards
The Discover Pods Awards are hosted by editorial website Discover Pods. True to their spirit of democracy, The Discover Pods Awards are user voted, and have given out 72 awards since it began in 2017.
3) The Audio Verse Awards
The Audio Verse Awards celebrate the greatest works in audio fiction, whether that be a podcast, streaming content, audio play, or an actual play.
4) The Webby Awards
The Webby Awards award the best of the internet, including websites, videos, social media, podcasts, and more. Winners are selected by members of The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences
5) The iHeart Radio Podcast Awards
The iHeart Radio Awards are chosen via a mixture of judges and public voting via iHeart’s website and social media.
6) The British Podcast Awards
The British Awards celebrates the best in British podcasting. Podcasts enter by providing “best of” clips from their shows, and then a panel of judges choose the finalists. There is a separate “listeners choice” award voted on by the public.
7) The Australian Podcast Awards
These awards are an annual celebration of the quality and breadth of Australian content. Entries are self-nominated, and over 20 categories are judged by a panel of experts, alongside a public vote – the Listeners’ Choice.
8) The Peabody Awards
The Peabody Awards has been awarding excellence in storytelling that reflects the social issues and the emerging voices of our day since 1941. The selection process is rigorous, going through several rounds of judging and only finally being selected by the Peabody Board of Jurors.
9) The Irish Podcast Awards
This is a new organization, that was just founded in 2021. They are dedicated to celebrating brilliant Irish podcasts, starting in 2022.
10) Young Audio Awards
The Young Audio Awards aims to find Britain’s next generation of audio talent. Creators under the age of 18 are encouraged to enter and could win their very own show on national radio, workshops with radio professionals, tours of radio stations, brand new equipment and more.
11) The Ambies
The Ambies are awards hosted by The Podcast Academy, which a podcast professional membership organization aiming to support podcast makers and advance the cultural merit of the medium. Entry cost is $100 for Podcast Academy members and $175 for those who are not.
12) Podcast Hall of Fame
The Podcast Hall of Fame isn’t your typical awards ceremony. Instead of celebrating the great podcasts of last year, the Podcast Hall of Fame celebrates the careers of certain podcasters, by adding new creators to the hall of fame every year.
13) Third Coast Competition
Third Coast in an independent nonprofit arts organization based in Chicago. For their annual competition, their panel of judges listen to audio stories from around the world and select their favorites.
14) Black Podcasting Awards
Started in 2020, Black Podcasting Awards is the first podcasting awards for the Black community. A panel of judges chooses winners in 22 categories, and winners are mailed awards.
15) Latin Podcast Awards
The Latin Podcast Awards honors Hispanic and Latinx podcasters, as well as Non-Latin members of the podcasting community who have made a significant contribution to the Latinx podcast industry.
16) The Golden Crane Podcast Awards
The Golden Crane Awards is organized by the Asian American Podcasters Association. Their goal is to increase visibility of Asian and Asian American podcasters.
17) African Podcast and Voice Awards
The African Podcast and Voice Awards is hosted by the Association of African Podcasters and Voice Artists. After a round of public voting and deliberation by a panel of judges, the winners will be announced on September 30th.
